Experts say yoga mats are dirtier than phones and airplane seats?!

Robert Lahita, a professor at Rutgers University Medical School who holds a PhD in microbiology and is also a yoga enthusiast, bluntly stated: "Yoga mats are hotbeds of contamination, and this is not just talk. This is a problem that cannot be underestimated. It is even more terrifying than cell phones or airplane seats." According to experts, the reason is the spread of bacteria caused by direct skin contact.
While everyone is sweating on the yoga mat,
Bacteria also continue to multiply and grow, which is the source of many skin diseases.
So, how do we clean the yoga mat that our face and body skin frequently come into contact with?
How to Clean Your Yoga Mat to Avoid Damage
❌ Do not use detergents containing oily ingredients or organic solvents.
❌ The use of alcohol is not recommended. Because each yoga mat is made using different ingredients and processes, alcohol may break down and damage the material, affecting the lifespan of the yoga mat.
❓ Homemade cleaners (vinegar and water) have limited cleaning effects and are insufficient to eliminate bacteria. There are also concerns about residual odor.
The Right Way to Keep Your Yoga Mat Clean
⭕️ Daily cleaning
Clean your hands after each yoga session to avoid the accumulation of sweat, oil, and bacteria.
① Use "peacefy nano-ion cleaning water" without any chemical ingredients to spray directly on the yoga mat, and then wipe it with a clean cloth
② Wipe the entire area once, if it is particularly dirty, spray it more locally and then wipe it again
③ After drying naturally, roll it up.
* Please avoid exposure to sunlight, which will accelerate the aging of the yoga mat.
⭕️ Deep Cleaning
It is recommended to hand wash once a month
① Use mild and neutral peacefy mugwort laundry detergent
② Add a small amount (5-10ml) to warm water and soak for 10 minutes, then rinse with clean water.
③ Use a damp cloth to clean and remove particularly dirty areas.
④ After drying naturally, roll it up.
*Please do not use a brush to avoid damaging the surface material
* Please avoid exposure to sunlight, which will accelerate the aging of the yoga mat.
